Cherry Blossom in Washington DC is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life. I was fortunate enough to see it this year. The trees are spread out all over the city but if you are looking for something magical, these are the locations that I would recommend.
- Haines Point
- National Arboretum
- Smithsonian Castle
- Washington Monument
- Tidal Basin
Peak bloom for the 2022 season was predicted to fall between March 22-25 and fell on the 24th. Peak bloom occurs when 70% of the Yoshino cherry blossoms are open and typically lasts for several days. It’s important to note that DC is very crowded, so if you plan on visiting, expect a crowd. You can avoid the crowd by planning and going very early for sunrise but nonetheless if you decide to go, make sure you take lots of photos and enjoy yourself.
Here are some of the photos that I took this year.
